This started as a Facebook group post, but It got so long I decided a blog post is probably better.

Changing your self talk is VITAL to success in health and weight loss.

If you don’t have your mind right to be kind to yourself and have positive self talk, it’s much harder to stay on track or to railroad when you mess up

Let me give you an example:

Money is tight right now. We are planning a vacation a year in the making. We’re trying to scrape together every penny possible so we can do all the things we want to while we’re gone.

That means I’ve been doing postmates almost every night. Which means we haven’t been in the gym.

And I haven’t stuck to my meal prep very well this week. There was a holiday. I had to take off another day to drive to Chicago and get my partners passport. We also went to Chicago for the holiday.

16 hours in the car in less than a week, all these factors above messing up a routine we need so badly.

Long story short, we are off track.

Normally that would completely derail me and send me spiraling. I actually caught myself today. “I shouldn’t get back in the gym now, when I leave for vacation in a week” “I’ll just get on track when i get back”.  Or I would start obsessing over how I’ve messed this up, my progress is all being reversed and I’m a failure.

NO.

The time is NOW.

To do SOMETHING.

I won’t let that voice win this time.

I’ve kept my work health habits consistent and I’ve altered my goals (which is for another blog post :))

Even though there’s a ton to do and a lot of running around right now. This next week before we leave will be rededicating myself to my schedule. Not overwhelming myself. Staying present. Only doing what I can do, but not wasting time.

This is such a huge sign of my mental progress.

I’m going into the weekend ready to meal prep, hit the gym, and still meet all my other goals for traveling soon.
