The Beginning
Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the Millennial Monologues! The blog that covers all topics that Millennials love to talk about, plus a little more!
Mental Health
Body image, self-care and self- love
Budgeting and Finances
Personal growth
Boundaries
Health and fitness
Relationship and sex
Basically all topics that anyone over the age of 40 have deemed irrelevant or taboo.
Who is Em?

That's me! I'm a twenty-something living in the Midwest who works in corporate America by day, dabbles in show biz at night, and has a whole lotta side hustle in-between! When I'm not working to make enough money to enjoy life, I enjoy reading, writing, exploring new food, music, or drag shows, and showing people around my hometown of St. Louis.

I have also spent the last couple of years consistently working on personal growth and learning how to live this life we're gifted to the fullest. I've researched and explored and grown a lot, and I'm a totally different person than I was five years ago.

Why this blog?

I've dabbled in writing and blogging for years. While I’m good at it and I enjoy it, it's never been consistent. I've previously felt like I didn't have enough content, or imposter syndrome snuck in and I convinced myself that no one wanted to hear what I have to say.

The truth is, over the last few years, I’ve worked extremely hard to completely re-invent my outlook on life, love, and health. The perspective I’ve adopted isn’t new, but I offer a unique twist by being a young person navigating and figuring it out. Young people’s perspectives are often driven by unhealthy social norms, the media, or conventional, non-progressive standards from generations previous. I offer an outlook different from all of that.

By creating this blog, I wanted to create a home for myself where I can consistently put my thoughts and experiences on "paper". And for you, it's a powerhouse of information. Plus, you'll get to know a little bit about me, and maybe learn some things! Expanding your knowledge, testing your limits, and incorporating new outlooks into your life is how you grow, right?

What are the Monologues?

I have experienced my fair share of trauma. Suffering from mental health issues, numerous toxic romantic and familial relationships, paired with a history of self-loathing and disordered eating leaves a lot of baggage to unpack. I'm hoping to share what I've learned so far, and take you with me as I continue to navigate my way through life. Learning to live life to the fullest and in the healthiest way possible is my goal for myself, and if this blog can help one other person, then my work here is done.

Where you can find me

Lastly, PLEASE take your time and take a look around! If you like what you read (or even if you don’t) please find me on other social media platforms! My Facebook page and Instagram are the best ways to get ahold of me! I would love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and comments!
